Poznań is the site of the founding of Poland in 966 A.D. The Peter and Paul Cathedral commemorates this event and is found on the island of Ostrów Tumski. The first Polish monarchs are interred in this Cathedral.
Poznań has the largest permanent trade fair in Central and Eastern Europe and the third largest in Europe. The largest gathering is the annual auto show with close to 100,000 attendees.
