Europe
abounds
with
historic
church
sites
and
religious
traditions;
however,
these
same
traditions
often
prevent
the
peoples
of
Europe
from
knowing
the
true
peace
that
comes
only
from
a
personal
relationship
with
Jesus
Christ.
Witnessing
fellowships,
while
readily
accessible
in
North
America,
are
few,
offering
Europe's
masses
little
opportunity
to
respond
to
Jesus
Christ
as
Savior
and
Lord.
Founded in 1949, Greater Europe Mission
has
a
rich
history
of
successfully
training
and
equipping
Europeans
to
evangelize
Greater
Europe.
Currently,
G.E.M.
has
more
than
400
missionaries
working
in
27
countries
throughout
greater
Europe,
including
former
Eastern
Bloc
countries
and
former
Soviet
Union
republics.
In
addition
to
its
long-standing
work
in
Western
Europe,
G.E.M.
is
actively
involved
in
developing
theological
education,
new
ministries,
and
ministry
assistance
in
Croatia,
Serbia,
Bulgaria,
Czech
Republic,
Slovakia,
Ukraine,
Hungary,
Poland,
Romania,
Latvia,
Estonia,
Albania,
and
Russia.
To
fulfill
the
Great
Commission
in
Europe,
believers
there
need
the
assistance
and
partnership
of
others,
including
Greater
Europe
Mission.
Europeans
who
understand
the
task
and
the
profound
spiritual
needs
in
Europe
are
not
sufficient
in
number
and
often
lack
adequate
Bible
training
and
resources
to
respond.
For
these
reasons,
G.E.M. is committed to continue equipping Europeans to evangelize
greater
Europe.
