Our
desire
and
vision
to
minister
cross-culturally
began
many
years
ago.
As
a
young
teenager,
Paul
sensed
in
his
heart
that
God
had
called
him
to
serve
as
a
missionary.
In
obedience
he
made
plans
to
attend
Saint
Paul
Bible
College
in
Minnesota
where
he
graduated
with
a
B.A.
in
Missions.
He
planned
to
attend
seminary
after
completing
two
years
of
service
in
the
U.S.
Army.
Karen
responded
to
God's
call
in
her
early
20's
and
served
in
the
Philippines
for
6
months
in
1983.

| Our
Heavenly
Father
graciously
brought
our
paths
together
in
Germany
in
1984
where
Paul
was
in
the
Army
and
Karen
was
teaching
the
sons
of
missionary
parents.
As
our
hearts
were
drawn
together,
a
vision
of
ministry
was
also
forming.
We
marveled
at
the
history
of
the
Church
in
Europe
and
we
gazed
admiringly
at
the
beautiful
churches
that
had
once
been
filled
with
worshippers
but
were
now
mostly
empty.
We
saw
the
spiritual
darkness
of
a
continent
that
had
once
been
filled
with
God's
light.
Our
desire
to
return
to
Europe
began
to
grow
--
a
desire
to
work
alongside
believing
pastors
